Separated at birth

I love Shah Rukh as much as anyone, but I can’t say I’m on board with his whole new “six-pack abs” look. Like many other aging celebrities who exercise and diet to extremes, it is taking its toll on his face (I also hate all the popping veins, and I won’t even talk about the hair). Today my sister put this comparison in my head, and now I fear I may never see him in the same light again.

It’s a slippery slope, Shah Rukh. A slippery slope. I’m just saying.

  1. Good comparison; and he doesn’t have far to slip.

I’m a connoisseur of neither Shah Rukh Khan nor men’s bodies, but I think Shah Rukh’s problem in these stills from *Om Shanti Om* is that he is not ripped enough for how cut he is. He needs either more bulk, or more bodyfat. Otherwise – Iggy Pop city.

I do like the humor of the previews though, and I think the movie will be loads of fun. SRK’s never been eye candy for me anyhow so it doesn’t really matter to me what he looks like.

  2. Jesus. Gross. At least above his neck is still somewhat intact.

  3. In all fairness to Iggy Pop there are nicer photos although this one captures his slippery reptileness pretty well. I saw him in concert several years ago and he does get top honors for energy, intensity and charisma. SRK does have a hair advantage, I actually like it a bit long, thought he looked great in Asoka. Think it’s an interesting irony that people can get so hung up on health and sport that they start looking like drug addicts.

  4. SRK’s face is getting pretty haggard judging from recent photos…and I should say that I do love Iggy Pop, although I wouldn’t want to look like him. Or look at him first thing in the morning.

  5. Wonder what Annie Leibovitz would do with SRK as a model?

  6. I hope that SRK change “boody look” for next film and he will be look much healthy. :)

  7. Hey man, Iggy Pop is awesome. I’d kill to be ripped like that in my 60’s.

  8. Yeah but if you were only in your 40s would you want your face to look like that? (But yes, Iggy Pop IS totally awesome)…

  9. I think he looks better now than in his Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam days. What do you think? Hey Memsaab, have you seen Wardat, Surakksha or 36 Ghante? I was thinking of buying them but I don’t know if they’re any good or not. Also, it’s super-cool that you got to meet Shammi Kapoor.

    • I think he looks better now than he did when he made Om Shanti Om :-) I haven’t seen any of those three films, sorry…and it is waaaaay super-cool that I got to meet Shammi :-)))

  10. Also, I saw Chameli the other day and if you haven’t already, it’s worth checking out.

  11. Chameli was good, I remember that I enjoyed it…
